As the title suggests, I usually plan for a few restaurants where I want to go while on vacation. Even if I know good restaurants to go to, I like trying new ones.

In a past trip, I looked for restaurants in a Time Out book about Paris, but I don’t have it anymore, so this time I decided to search on the internet.

I came across some articles about Paris in the New York magazine, and I found a restaurant recommendation: “Citrus Etoile” .  The food looks great, so I am planning to go there. After living in California for a few years, the chef went back to his home country and opened up his own restaurant in Paris.

I am glad I looked the internet page, because I found out that this restaurant is closed Saturdays and Sundays, just when I was planning to go. Now I’ll make the reservation for Friday.

One thing I learned the hard way (after not finding a restaurant with room for 2 or 3 more hungry tourists)  is to make reservations in advance if you want to get into a certain restaurante in Paris. Some restaurantes are very small, and their kitchens close early (around 10 PM). Living in the largest city in the world I usually don’t have to make reservations, unless I am with a lot of friends. The restaurants in Mexico City close very late (1 AM or so).

So, next time you travel to Paris, make reservations in advance for dining in a restaurant you want to get into. Now I will keep looking for more places to visit, of course, I’ll keep you posted.

I’m leaving in a few days for Europe. A good friend of mine asked me my itinerary, so I decided to post it.

Madrid – Rome – Madrid – Barcelona – Madrid – Paris

Madrid will be the city where I’ll be spending most of the time. I’ve been there before, but there are a lot of museums and other places to visit, and re-visit. It is such a wonderful city.

I will also travel to places nearby Madrid. I am not sure where am I going yet, but I’ll be posting about that later… If you have any suggestions for my trip, I am all ears…

After getting my flight tickets and or course my travel schedule, I started to look for accomodations.

I found good deals booking in advance. I was able to find high quality hotels for low prices in the Accor hotels  page. They have hotels all over Europe and they offer an early rate that has to be paid at the time of booking, sometimes this rate is about 1/2 price of the standard rate! They offer this type of rates even for their most expensive line of hotels Sofitel.

I haven’t booked all my accomodations yet, for the days missing I will try to get an apartment. I can’t hardly wait to travel!

I am still doing travel arrangements for my next trip. I have traveled in Europe by car and train before, but this time I don’t have much time, so I decided to look for flight tickets.

 I was surprised to find flight tickets for very low prices. For example: a round trip Madrid-Barcelona-Madrid only 30 Euros! I don’t know how much the train costs but I am sure it costs more than that. Renting a car is more expensive for sure.

This is my first post, and I thought about writing something about myself: I love to travel. I travel every time I can,. I love it because I can get to know other cultures and places, also because I can rest, relax and forget about work for a while… I’ll be traveling to Europe next month and I am very excited! I am working on the travel arrangements: plane tickets, hotel reservations, etc.
